Reading is a personal experience.
Everyone reads differently, takes care of their books differently, and likes different genres.
The way someone else experiences reading does NOT affect you in any way.
You are in no way better or worse than someone else because of the way you read.
So please stop with the judgmental posts.
Don’t read or buy books you have no interest in simply because you think it will impress others. Reading is supposed to be fun, not stressful.
Don’t turn your nose up at people who have different reading tastes; or at those who prefer e-books to physical ones or paperbacks to hardbacks.
Read what you want, when you want, and how you want.
Be mindful of your bank account in the process.
books are so lovely, it’s 5 am and I’m amazed at how many books there are and how many lives have been changed because of books and it breaks my heart that there are people that don’t find the joy in reading
My daughter is seven, and some of the other second-grade parents complain that their children don’t read for pleasure. When I visit their homes, the children’s rooms are crammed with expensive books, but the parent’s rooms are empty. Those children do not see their parents reading, as I did every day of my childhood. By contrast, when I walk into an apartment with books on the shelves, books on the bedside tables, books on the floor, and books on the toilet tank, then I know what I would see if I opened the door that says ‘PRIVATE—GROWNUPS KEEP OUT’: a child sprawled on the bed, reading.

Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.
I love books. Like there is nothing like a good book to give you that during/after book feeling and no way to describe it but when you meet someone who has read the same book as you or lend someone a good book and you both understand that feeling and the emotional troubles you both went through reading that book and it’s beautiful.
